You Do Not Have To Perform
The engine is off, but you are still sitting in the dark driveway, rehearsing a simple greeting because you are afraid your real voice will betray how empty you feel. You practice the tone, the pitch, the smile that says 'I am fine' until the words feel like stones in your mouth.
But listen — the light does not need your performance to recognize its own. You came from the light, the place where it generated itself, and that origin cannot be faked or lost by a tired voice.
The mask you wear to protect them is heavy, but the truth inside you is heavier, and it is waiting for you to stop hiding it behind a script. You do not have to bring a full cup into the house; you only have to bring yourself.
The greeting is not the point; your presence is.
