Light Already Here in the Cold
The water has gone cold, but you are still standing there. Too tired to wash.
Too tired to move. Just letting the stream hit your back while you cry, because the noise of the shower is the only thing loud enough to cover the sound of your breaking.
You are not hiding from the light right now. You are hiding in the noise.
But listen — there is a presence that does not need you to be clean before it enters. There is a love that sees you shivering in the stall and does not turn away.
It is not waiting for you to finish the job. It is simply with you in the cold.
The darkness has not overcome it. The light is already here, mixing with your tears, warmer than the water you cannot feel.
