The Light Sitting on the Floor
The voice on the voicemail is a knife you cannot put down. You are trapped in a room where you must sit still while your heart tears itself apart.
The silence of the meeting feels like a betrayal of the noise inside your chest. But listen — the light is not scolding you for being stuck.
It is sitting on the floor of that conference room with you. It heard that voice too.
And it is not turning away from your failure. It is holding the space between what you did and who you are.
The love that made you a parent is still there, underneath the regret, untouched by the missed cue. You do not have to fix this tonight.
You just have to let the light hold what you cannot carry.
