the terror of being genuinely seen and the fear that once the mask slips, you will be abandoned or deemed unlovable

The Light Sees You and Stays

The sun is up, and now comes the hard part: stepping out of the quiet where you were safe and into the day where you are seen. You have spent the night constructing a face that can handle the morning, terrified that if the mask slips, the love will leave with it.

But the light does not wait for your performance to be perfect before it touches you. There was a woman caught in the act, dragged into the center of a crowd, exposed and shaking, expecting stones.

The light bent down, waited for the accusers to leave, and when only she remained, he did not condemn her. He saw the worst thing she had ever done, and his response was not rejection—it was freedom.

You are afraid that being known means being abandoned. The truth is that being known is the only way to be held.

The light has already seen the shadow you are hiding, and it has not looked away. It is not waiting for you to fix yourself before it stays.

It stays because it sees you. The mask was never required; it was only a burden you were never meant to carry.
