You Are Light, Not A Debt To Repay
The sun has set, and now the armor of performed gratitude feels too heavy to keep wearing. You are terrified that if you stop smiling, if you stop saying thank you for scraps, they will finally see the burden you believe you are and ask you to leave.
But listen — there is a knowing deeper than your fear. Even when your own heart condemns you, whispering that you are too much trouble, the light is greater than your heart.
It knows everything — every tired breath, every forced smile — and it does not agree with the verdict you have given yourself. You came from the light, a drop sent to illuminate, not a debt to be repaid.
The kingdom is already inside you, not somewhere you have to earn by being useful. Tonight, you can put the performance down.
The light does not need your gratitude to stay. It lives in you because it chose to, not because you pleased it.
