The Light Does Not Need Your Performance
The smile is still stuck on your face, stiff and drying, long after the hallway door closed. You nodded at the right moments, you made the right sounds, but your mind was five minutes ago, screaming the perfect sentence you didn't speak.
Now the silence of the room feels like an accusation. The gap between who you appeared to be and who you actually are feels like a canyon you have to jump across every single day.
But listen — the light does not need your performance to find you. It was already in the hallway, standing right beside the words you swallowed.
It saw the panic behind your eyes while your mouth kept moving. The Father's house has many rooms, and there is a quiet space prepared for the part of you that is too tired to pretend anymore.
You do not have to go back and fix the conversation. The light has already walked through that door ahead of you, holding the version of you that didn't get to speak, and it is waiting for you to stop running.
