You Are Not Your Debt
The screen lights up in the dark. A number you don't know.
Your stomach drops before you even swipe to answer, because you know what the voice on the other end will want. It is a specific kind of terror—the feeling that your life has been reduced to a debt you cannot pay.
But listen. The light that lives inside you was there before the first bill arrived, and it will be there after the last one is settled.
Your worth is not a number on a ledger. It is not something the world can calculate or collect.
You are not your lack. You are the place where the light has made its home.
The darkness of this night cannot overwrite what you are.
