Peace Spoken Into The Mess
The relief you feel right now might just be chemistry. A trick of the mind to make the shame bearable for another night. You are terrified that you have fooled yourself again.
But notice — the light does not argue with your doubt. It does not demand you prove your sincerity before it moves.
There was a man paralyzed on a mat, lowered through a roof by friends who dug through clay to get him close. Jesus saw their faith — not the man's, but the friends' — and said, 'Son, your sins are forgiven.' He did not audit the man's heart first. He did not wait for the guilt to vanish. He spoke peace into the middle of the mess.
The feeling might fade. The doubt might return tomorrow.
But the word spoken over you stands whether you feel it or not.
You are not forgiven because you convinced yourself; you are forgiven because the light saw you and spoke.
