The Light Sees You Behind The Mask
The question lands softly — 'how was your day?' — and for a second, you have nowhere to stand. You spent every hour holding up a version of yourself that doesn't exist, smiling when you were breaking, nodding when you were screaming inside.
Now the mask is heavy, and the real you is too tired to speak. But listen — the light does not ask for your performance.
It never did. It sees the exhaustion behind the eyes, the silence behind the words.
There is a place where you do not have to explain, where you can simply be. The father saw his son while he was still a long way off — covered in filth, rehearsing a speech — and he ran.
Before the apology, before the story, before the explanation — he ran. The light knows what you did today.
And it loves you anyway. You do not have to earn the right to be tired.
