The Light Is Not A Weight
The house is quiet now, but your mind is loud with the fear that you have become too heavy for them to carry. You imagine them swallowing their words, protecting you from their own pain because they think your heart is already full to breaking.
But listen — the light that lives inside you is not a weight. It is a lamp.
And it sees what is hidden in the dark corners of their silence. There was a father who saw his son while he was still a long way off.
He did not wait for the speech. He ran.
Before the apology, before the confession — he ran. That same love is in you.
It is not tired. It is not full.
It is ready to run. Your child does not need you to be light; they need you to be present.
The fear says you are too broken to hold them. The truth says you are the only one who can.
Open your hands. Let them come.
