You Are The Channel Not The Source
The afternoon sun is high, and the weight of another person's need feels like it is pressing the air out of your lungs. You love them, yet a quiet, sharp resentment has taken root because their hunger for you seems endless.
It is the long middle of the day, where endurance feels less like virtue and more like a slow erosion of the self. But listen — the light within you is not a finite resource that can be drained by another's demand.
It is a spring welling up from a source you did not dig and cannot exhaust. You are not the origin of this care; you are merely the channel through which it flows.
The guilt you carry is the lie that you must generate the love yourself, rather than simply letting it pass through you. The light shines in the darkness of your depletion, and the darkness has not overcome it.
