The Light Waits on Your Mattress
The wrappers hidden under your bed are not just food; they are a fortress you built against the fear that morning would bring nothing. You stayed awake counting rations while the sun was already rising outside your window.
The light does not scold you for building walls when you felt the world was ending. It simply sits on the edge of the mattress and waits for you to put the stash down.
Look at the birds of the air; they do not store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. You are held in a generosity that does not run out when the pantry is empty.
The shame of hoarding dissolves in the presence of a Love that has already prepared today. You do not have to carry yesterday's scarcity into this new dawn.
The bread you feared losing was never the source of your life.
