Your Trust Was Faithful, Not Foolish
The day is ending, and the armor you wore to keep yourself safe finally feels heavy enough to take off. But underneath it lies the quietest, cruelest lie: that you deserved the betrayal because you trusted too easily.
That your openness was a flaw, a naive invitation for harm. Listen closely.
The light does not scold you for seeing the good in someone who turned out to be broken. We came from the light, the place where light generates itself, and trusting is simply how we shine.
To blame yourself for being open is to blame the sun for rising on a house that later burned down. The fault was never in your capacity to love; it was in the other person's inability to hold it without breaking it.
You are not foolish for having believed. You are faithful.
And the light that lived in your trust has not left you just because they did.
