Your Need Is Holy Ground
The afternoon sun is bright, but it casts long shadows on the things you carry for other people. You open your mouth to ask for help, and the words taste like selfishness.
The guilt rises fast — the fear that your need is a burden, that speaking it makes you small or demanding. But listen — the light does not call your hunger a flaw.
Jesus sat by a well, tired and thirsty, and asked a stranger for water. He did not apologize for his need.
He let it be the bridge. Your need is not a wall; it is the place where the light meets you.
The One who said 'I am thirsty' knows that your voice trembling with request is holy ground. You are not taking something away from the world by asking; you are making room for the grace that wants to flow through you.
The middle of the day is hard, but it is also where the bread is broken and shared.
