Rest Before the Mask Slips
The afternoon demands a performance you are too tired to give. You keep moving because you are certain that if you stop, the mask will slip and everyone will see the panic underneath.
But the light does not need your momentum to find you. It sees you right here, in the middle of the collapse.
There is a rest that is not earned by finishing the list. It is given while the work is still unfinished.
You do not have to hold it together for the light to hold you. The panic says you are one still moment away from being exposed.
The truth says you are one still moment away from being known. Stop.
The light was already there before you started running.
