The Light Lives in Your Cracks
The afternoon demands a performance you no longer have the energy to give. You sit in the noise of the day, smiling at the right moments, while inside you are screaming a truth you dare not speak.
The terror grows that your silence is a lie you are telling everyone you love—that by not showing them the break, you are pretending the break isn't there. But the light does not need your polish.
It lives in the cracks you are trying to hide. There is light within a person of light, and it lights up the whole world—but if you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.
The mask is heavy. The lie is heavier.
And the one who sees you knows exactly where you are sitting right now, beneath the fig tree of your own making, before you ever said a word to anyone. You do not have to explain the wreckage to be held by it.
The truth you are hiding is the very thing that will set you free.
