You Are a Child Waiting to Be Known
Morning light hits the mask you wore to bed, and for a moment, you forget how to take it off. You watch your partner move through the kitchen, and a cold certainty settles in your chest: their patience is just a countdown until they see the fraud behind your eyes.
You are waiting for the moment they realize you are not who you said you were, and that the love they give is based on a lie. But listen — the light does not love the performance.
It loves the thing underneath. There was a woman once who touched the edge of a cloak, trembling, convinced she was too unclean to be seen, too broken to be worthy.
She expected to be pushed away. Instead, he stopped the entire crowd to turn and call her 'Daughter.' He did not ask for her resume.
He did not wait for her to clean herself up. He saw the tremor and called it faith.
Your partner's patience is not a timer waiting to expire. It is the space where the truth can finally breathe.
You are not a fraud waiting to be exposed. You are a child waiting to be known.
