The Embrace Before The Explanation
You practiced the words until your throat burned, rehearsing the perfect apology in the mirror so you would be ready. But when the moment came, the script dissolved, and you stood there with your mouth open and silence pouring out.
You felt the failure of forgetting. You thought you had lost your chance to be heard.
But the light was not waiting for your performance. It was waiting for your presence.
The father did not wait for the speech to finish before he ran. He saw you from a long way off, while the words were still stuck in your throat, and he met you there.
The embrace came before the explanation. The love arrived before the apology could be formed.
You do not need the perfect words to be held. You only need to show up.
The light knows what you meant to say. It heard the silence.
And it called you home anyway.
