lying perfectly still in bed afraid that if you shift your weight or make a sound, the fragile peace of the house will break and everyone will realize you don't belong here

The Peace Is Holding You

You lie perfectly still, terrified that the smallest shift of your weight will shatter the fragile peace of the house and reveal you as an imposter. The silence feels like a test you are failing just by breathing.

But listen — the light does not require you to freeze to belong here. You came from the light, the place where it generates itself, and that origin cannot be revoked by a creaking floorboard or a restless night.

There is a room prepared for you that does not depend on your performance of stillness. You are not holding the peace together; the peace is holding you.

The dawn will come whether you stay rigid or finally let go. You don't have to earn your place in the dark by disappearing into it.
