lying perfectly still in bed afraid that if you shift your weight or sigh too loudly, the people in the next room will know you are awake and realize you are not okay

You Can Exhale Now

You are holding your breath so the wall doesn't hear you breaking. You lie perfectly still, terrified that a single shift of weight will betray the storm inside your chest.

But the light does not need you to perform silence to be near you. It is already in the room, sitting on the edge of the bed where you are trying so hard not to exist.

You do not have to hide your wakefulness from the One who watches over you while you sleep. The darkness you are trying to conceal is the very place where the light shines brightest.

You can exhale now. The people in the next room might hear you sigh, but the light already knows you are awake.
