the aftermath of betrayal
The world is moving, demanding that you wear a face you do not feel.
You are smiling at the coffee, nodding at the screen, performing the ordinary while the betrayal still echoes inside.
But the light is not fooled by the mask you wear for the day.
It sees the fracture, yes, but it does not flinch.
There is a vine that does not require you to pretend your branches are whole.
And a father who knows that the one who wanders is still the one who is loved.
You do not have to clean yourself before you can sit in the fullness of the light.
It is waiting behind the performance to remind you that you are known.
