rehearsing a vulnerable sentence in your head while they sleep, then swallowing it when they stir

The Truth You Swallowed Still Shines

The words formed perfectly in the quiet, a bridge built sentence by sentence while the house held its breath. But then a shift in the sheets, a stir of movement, and the bridge collapsed back into your throat before anyone could cross it.

You swallowed the truth to keep the peace, to keep the mask smooth against the morning light. Yet the light that lives inside you does not need your performance to see what is real.

It saw the sentence before you spoke it, and it sees the silence now that you have chosen. Go home to your own people and tell them how much the light has done for you, and how it has had mercy on you—even on the parts you hide.

The mask is heavy, but the truth is lighter than you think. You do not have to carry both.
