The Light Stands Beside You Washing
The water is cold now. The house is silent except for the sound of your hands in the sink, washing a single mug that no one else will ever touch again.
It feels like the weight of the entire mess has settled into your shoulders, and you are the only one left standing in the kitchen to clean it up. But listen — the light does not require you to carry the whole world tonight.
It only asks you to wash this one cup. To be present for this single, small act of love in the middle of the wreckage.
There is a tenderness in the ordinary that the darkness cannot see. The light is not waiting for you to fix everything before it stays.
It is already here, in the steam, in the water, in the quiet rhythm of your hands. You are not alone in the cleanup.
The light is standing right beside you, holding the towel, waiting for you to finish so it can dry what you have washed. The mess is real.
But so is the presence.
