the fear that it is too late to change

The Dawn Does Not Check Your Resume

The sun is up. The night you thought would never end has already passed, whether you slept or not.

You are looking at the morning light and wondering if there is any point in starting again, if the window for change has slammed shut on you. But the dawn does not check your resume before it breaks.

It does not ask how many times you failed yesterday. It simply arrives, new and unearned, covering the same ground it covered yesterday.

There was a man who worked in a vineyard, hired at the very last hour of the day, when the sun was already dipping low. He had done nothing all day.

He had missed every earlier opportunity. And when the pay came, he received the same as the ones who started at sunrise.

The master did not scold him for being late. He paid him in full.

The light is not keeping score of your lost time. It is offering you a new beginning right now, in this breath.

You are not behind. You are exactly where the morning finds you.
