the terror of being found out when the one who always helps suddenly stops helping

The Mask Falling So You Can Breathe

The sun is up, but for you, the light feels like an interrogation lamp. You built a life on being the one who helps, the one who holds it together, and now that the strength has vanished, you are terrified someone will see the crack.

You fear that if you stop performing, you will be found out as a fraud. But look at the birds outside your window.

They do not sow or reap, they do not build barns to prove their worth, and yet they are fed. You are worth far more than they are.

The terror you feel is not a sign of failure; it is the sound of the mask falling away so the real you can breathe. The light does not need your performance to shine; it only needs your honesty.

The dawn is not asking you to be strong; it is asking you to be here.
