The Dawn Does Not Demand Your Performance
The sun is up, and the house is quiet, and there is a secret relief in knowing you didn't try. If you had reached for it and failed, the door would be shut forever.
But by staying still, the possibility remains. The light does not demand your performance this morning.
It simply rises. Like the birds that do not sow or reap, you are fed without your striving.
The failure you fear is not final because the light was there before you moved, and it is here while you sit. You do not have to prove you are alive to be held by the dawn.
The courage of today is not in the doing, but in the waking.
