Light Arrives Unearned and Unasked For
The sun is up, and you made it through the night, but the light feels suspiciously like a loan you cannot repay. You are waiting for the other shoe to drop, convinced that love is something you earn by being perfect, by never slipping, by holding your breath until you prove you are worthy.
But look at the morning breaking outside your window—it does not struggle to rise. It simply arrives, unearned and unasked for, spilling over the horizon because that is what light does.
The Father's love is not a wage paid for good behavior; it is the air you are breathing right now, given before you even opened your eyes. You are not holding onto this grace by your grip; you are being held by a hand that will not let go.
The shoe is not going to drop, because there was never a threat hanging over you—only a promise that arrived while you slept.
