rehearsing your own apology for existing before you even speak

The Light Rose to Meet You

The sun is up, and you are already rehearsing your apology for taking up space. You walk into the morning with your head down, preparing to say sorry for being here, for breathing the same air, for needing what you need.

But listen — the light did not rise to judge you. It rose to meet you.

There is a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off, and before the speech, before the shame could be spoken, he ran. He ran to cover the distance you thought you had to walk alone.

You do not need to earn the right to exist today. The kingdom is given with pleasure, not performance.

The light is already here, waiting for you to stop apologizing and simply begin.
