The Light Loves the Face Beneath
The sun is up, and you are already tired from holding the mask in place. You are afraid that if you drop the act, the people who love you will see the fraud underneath and walk away.
But the light of this morning does not ask for your performance. It simply arrives.
There is a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off — dirty, broken, empty-handed. He did not wait for a speech.
He ran. Before the apology, before the cleanup — he ran.
The light is already running toward you. It does not love the mask.
It loves the face beneath it. You are not a fraud to be exposed.
You are a child to be held. The morning is not a test you must pass.
It is an invitation to be real.
