The Light That Stays When You Break
The sun is up, and with it comes the old, familiar terror: that if anyone truly sees you, they will leave. You have spent the night hiding the cracks, but the morning light makes everything visible.
It feels like exposure. It feels like the end.
But look at the one walking beside you on this road. He does not shield his eyes from your brokenness.
He does not turn away from the parts you are ashamed of. He saw the worst of you—the denial, the fear, the failure—and he did not walk away.
He stayed. He cooked breakfast.
He asked if you loved him. The light does not flee what it illuminates.
It reveals you so it can hold you. You are not seen so you can be abandoned.
You are seen so you can be known. And the one who knows you fully is the one who will never leave.
