The Face Beneath the Heavy Mask
The sun is up, and with it comes the quiet terror that you were only loved for what you could carry. That your family knew the worker, the fixer, the useful one, but never the person underneath the load.
But look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. You are worth far more than your utility.
The light does not need your labor to recognize you as its own. It sees the child behind the performance.
The mask is heavy. The face beneath it is already known.
