The Light Holds Your Unsent Joy
The sun is up, and the world is asking for your performance. You woke with a small joy in your chest—a sudden, bright thing you needed to share.
Your hand moved before your mind could catch up, reaching for the name that is now a door you cannot open. The silence of that contact is heavier than the morning light.
You put the phone down, and the mask goes on. The smile for the coworker.
The 'I'm fine' for the stranger. But the light sees what the mask hides.
It knows the ache of the unsent message. There was a man who carried a paralysis no medicine could touch, lowered through a roof because the front door was closed.
The light did not ask him to walk first. It saw the friends, saw the struggle, and spoke peace before the healing began.
Your joy is not lost because it has nowhere to go today. The light received it the moment you felt it.
It is holding the message you cannot send. You do not have to pretend the hole isn't there to be loved.
The mask is for them. But the light is for you.
