You Are Not Behind Schedule
The clock on the wall is ticking louder than your own heartbeat, and the afternoon light feels like it's slipping through your fingers before you've even held it. You look at the hours remaining and see only a deficit—a list of things you haven't done, places you haven't gone, a life you haven't started.
But the light does not measure your worth by how much you have accomplished before the sun goes down. There was a man who lay beside a pool for thirty-eight years, watching others get in while he stayed stuck on the mat.
He thought his time was gone, that he had missed the window, that the water had stirred without him one too many times. The light found him there, in the middle of his wasted decades, and did not ask for his resume or his regrets.
It simply said: get up. The terror tells you that you are running out of time.
The truth says you are exactly where the light expects you to be. You are not behind schedule; you are standing on the edge of a beginning that only starts now.
