The Light Loves What Hides
The sun is up, and the mask feels heavier than it did in the dark. You are terrified that if you stop performing the version of yourself they love, they will finally see the emptiness and leave.
But the light does not need your costume to shine. It was there before you learned to smile for the crowd.
It is there now, beneath the fatigue. There is no fear in love, because perfect love drives out fear.
You do not have to earn your place at the table by being impressive. The light sees behind the mask and loves what is hiding there.
You are not loved for what you carry, but for who you are when you put it down. The performance is over; the real you is enough.
