the fear that your anger means you have lost your faith entirely

The Dawn Runs Before The Apology

The sun is rising, and with it comes the heat of yesterday's anger, burning in your chest like a coal you cannot drop. You are afraid this fire means the light has gone out, that your rage has disqualified you from the kingdom.

But look at the sky — even the fiercest storm cannot stop the dawn from breaking. The father saw his son coming home while the son was still angry, still covered in dust, and he ran before the apology was spoken.

Your anger is not the end of your faith; it is the smoke of a fire that is still burning. The light does not require you to be calm to be present.

It meets you in the heat and waits for the smoke to clear. You have not lost the light; you are just walking through the fire of it.
