You Are Not Betraying Them By Surviving
The sun is rising, and it feels less like a promise and more like an accusation. You look at the light hitting the floor and think of the person you planned to be by now.
The gap between that dream and this reality feels like a betrayal. As if waking up to this ordinary morning means you failed the version of you who once believed in a different story.
But listen — the light does not rise to shame you for where you are. It rises to show you that you are still here.
The past self you are mourning did not know what you know now. They drew maps for a territory you have never actually walked.
You are not betraying them by surviving. You are carrying them into a day they could not imagine.
The sun is not asking you to be who you were. It is asking you to be who you are, right now, in this fragile, honest dawn.
