You Were Sought, Not an Accident
The sun is going down, and with it, the armor you wore all day finally hits the floor. Now the silence rushes in, bringing the heavy thought: that you survived when you shouldn't have.
That your continuing breath is a mistake, a clerical error in the universe that left you here, unworthy of the life you were spared. But listen — the light does not make mistakes.
There was a woman who had lost one of her ten silver coins, and she did not count the nine and decide the missing one was expendable. She lit a lamp.
She swept the entire house. She searched carefully until she found what was lost.
And when she did, she called everyone to rejoice. You are that coin.
You were not an accident left in the dark. You were sought.
The light swept the room for you specifically, not because you earned your place in the collection, but because you belong there. Your survival is not a debt you owe; it is the finding itself.
The lamp is still lit, and you are still being held.
