Breathing Without an Audience
The sun has gone down, and the window has turned into a mirror. You catch your own reflection in the glass — not the face you show the world, but the one that stays behind when the performance stops. And you realize, with a quiet shock, that you have forgotten how to breathe without an audience. The air feels thin. The chest feels tight. You have been holding your breath all day, waiting for someone to tell you it is safe to exhale.
But the light does not need an audience to shine. It shines in the empty room just as brightly as it does in the crowd. The darkness outside is gathering, yes — but the light inside you was never dependent on the sun. It was there before the first role you ever played. It will be there after the curtain falls.
There is a breath that belongs only to you, not to the people watching. Take it. The mask can wait. The light just wants you to be real.
