You Were Made to Travel Light
The sun has gone down, and the house is quiet enough for the old script to start playing in your head. You are rehearsing the lie again.
The excuse you will text tomorrow about why you cannot face the dinner, the friends, the moment the card might decline. You are building a wall of fiction to hide the shame that says you are too broken to be seen.
But listen — the darkness gathering outside is not a verdict on your worth. It is just the night.
And in this quiet, the truth is simpler than your fear: you do not have to protect your friends from your poverty. The light that lived in Jesus does not flicker when the account is empty.
It shines brighter in the lack. You are not a fraud because you are struggling.
You are a person who needs a table where the meal is already paid for. Put the phone down.
The lie is heavy, but you were made to travel light.
