the fear that your silence in prayer is actually a sign that you have been abandoned by god

Silence Is Not Abandonment But Mercy

The silence in this room feels heavy, like a door that has been locked from the outside. You are speaking into the dark, waiting for an echo that never comes, and the fear whispers that you have been forgotten.

But the light does not always answer with words. Sometimes it answers with presence.

Remember the woman caught in the dust, surrounded by voices demanding her death. The light did not argue.

It did not preach. It bent down and wrote in the dirt, creating a silence so deep that every accuser eventually walked away.

When they were gone, only two remained: the shame and the mercy. And in that quiet, the voice finally spoke: 'Neither do I condemn you.' The silence was not abandonment.

It was the space where the noise of judgment had to die so you could hear the one thing that mattered. You are not alone in this watch.

The light is writing in the dust beside you, waiting for the world to leave so it can look you in the eye.
