The Light Sits With You In Silence
The screen lights up in the dark. A name.
And your stomach turns because you know you will not answer. You cannot.
The silence feels like a betrayal, but the light is not measuring your capacity to respond right now. In the deep night, the only honest prayer is the one you are too tired to speak.
The Savior stood at a well where a woman came to hide, and he did not demand she fix her life before offering her water. He simply sat with her in the heat of her shame.
The light does not require you to call back tonight. It only asks that you let it sit with you in the silence.
You are not abandoned because you are silent. You are held.
