The Light Loves the Person Underneath
The screen is dark now, but for a moment, it held a face you barely recognize. You have spent so long performing the version of yourself that others needed that the real you has gone quiet, buried under layers of smiles and safe answers.
Night gathers around you, and in this stillness, the mask feels heavy, like a stone you have been carrying since morning. But listen — the light does not love the performance.
It loves the person underneath. There is a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off, still covered in the filth of the road, still rehearsing a speech he never got to finish.
He did not wait for the cleanup. He ran.
The light is doing the same thing right now, moving toward the tired, unpolished truth of you. You do not need to dig yourself out alone.
The one who knows your name is already kneeling beside the place where you hid.
