Rest Is Not Selfish, It Is Survival
The sun has gone down, and with it, the noise that usually drowns out your guilt. Now, in the quiet, a cold voice whispers that your stillness is just selfishness in disguise.
It tells you that resting is a failure of duty, that you are hoarding energy that belongs to everyone else. But listen closely.
The light does not accuse you of stealing when you stop moving. It knows the difference between a closed fist and an open hand receiving grace.
There is a scene where the light itself, overwhelmed with sorrow, asked to sit alone in the dark while his friends slept nearby. He did not call it selfishness.
He called it survival. If the source of all love needed to withdraw to keep from breaking, how much more do you?
Your exhaustion is not a moral verdict. It is a signal that you are human, not a machine.
The gathering dark is not a courtroom; it is a room where the lamp is lit so you can finally see what was hidden. You are not hiding from your work.
You are returning to your root.
