The Silence Is Full of Presence
The screen is bright, but your hands are cold. You refresh the inbox again, watching the spinning wheel, hoping the three dots were just a glitch and the message is still unsent.
You put on the face that says you are fine, the smile that fits perfectly over the panic rising in your chest. But the light sees behind the mask.
It knows the weight of the words you typed and deleted, typed and deleted, until the battery died. You do not have to carry the performance of okayness into this day.
The truth you are hiding is already known, and it has not changed how you are held. The mask can come down now.
The silence you fear is not empty; it is full of a presence that heard you before you ever hit send.
