The Light Was Already Home
The screen glows in the quiet room, a small island of light against the gathering dark. You type a message about something silly that happened today—a joke, a observation, a tiny spark of joy.
Your thumb hovers over the send button. Then you remember.
There is no one to send it to. The silence in the house feels suddenly heavy, like a held breath that won't release.
But listen closely to that pause. The light that sparked the joke did not vanish when the recipient disappeared.
It was already inside you before you typed the first word. It is still there, shining in the empty space between your hand and the phone.
You are not waiting for someone to receive the light. You are the vessel where it lives.
The message was never meant to leave you to be real; it was meant to prove the light is already home.
