The Love Was In The Giving
The screen glows in the dark, a small rectangle holding the only proof you have that it was real. You scroll until you find the smile that meant everything, the moment that proved you were loved.
Then the finger hovers. The delete button waits.
By morning, the evidence will be gone, and you will have to trust the memory without the picture. But the light does not need a screenshot to know what happened in your heart.
It saw the love when it was given. It sees the grief now that it is taken.
What is done in secret is known fully. The love was not in the pixel.
It was in the giving. And that cannot be deleted.
