The Light Before Their Names
The room is quiet enough to hear your own heart rehearsing the words you are too afraid to say. You are running the conversation again and again, terrified that telling your parents about this love will break something that cannot be fixed.
In this deepest hour, the silence feels like a wall between who you are and who they think you are. But listen — the light that lives inside you was there before their expectations, and it will be there after the speaking is done.
It does not depend on their approval to exist. It was shining in you before you ever knew their names.
There is a truth that lives in us and will be with us forever, deeper than any disappointment or confusion. You are not asking them to give you permission to be loved.
You are simply revealing the light that is already there. The fear says you might lose them.
The truth says you cannot lose what was never yours to hold.
