You Were the Vessel, Not the Source
The room is loud with applause, and you are clapping the hardest, smiling the widest, while your stomach knots with a secret fear: that your child's success proves you had nothing unique to give them. You perform the joy so well that no one sees the hollow ache behind your eyes.
But the light does not need your performance to see what is real. It sees the fear that you are empty, and it whispers the truth that changes everything: out of his fullness, we have all received grace upon grace.
Your value was never in what you could manufacture for them. You were the vessel, not the source.
The light you carried was already enough.
