The Light Beneath the Heavy Mask
The question lands soft as a stone in still water: 'How was your day?' And you stand there, hollowed out, because the person who lived those hours was a costume you wore so well you forgot you were wearing it. You performed until your bones felt like borrowed things.
You have no true answer because the real you went underground to survive the noise. But listen — the light does not ask for a report.
It does not need the performance. It is waiting in the silence you are afraid to enter.
The mask was heavy, yes. But the face underneath it has never left.
You do not have to explain the act to be held by the actor. The terror is that you are unknown.
The truth is that you are fully known, even now, especially now, in the wreckage of the pretend. You are not the performance.
You are the light that was there before the curtain rose.
