No Need to Explain the Silence
The phone lights up with a name you know, and your chest tightens before you even swipe to answer. You have spent the morning building a face that says 'I'm fine,' smoothing the edges so no one sees the cracks underneath.
But the silence you carried last night is heavy, and explaining it feels like admitting the mask is slipping. You do not need to construct a perfect reason for the quiet.
The light that lives within you does not demand a performance of okayness to be valid. It was there before you said a word, and it remains when you have nothing left to say.
You came from the light, and you return to it, regardless of how broken your explanation sounds.
